Performance measurement coaching sessions are
designed for agencies that want to actually develop and use
performance measures to improve performance. The day is divided into
hour to hour and one-half sessions. Programs, services or units of
the agency are given one of these time slots and bring a team
(preferably not more than 12) to do the work. FPSI leads the group
in the identification of performance measures, using the 4 Quadrant
approach. The group then identifies the 3 to 5 most important
"headline" measures for which they currently have data.
The group also identifies the most important measures for the data
development agenda. And the team discusses how to use these measures
in managing the program and improving performance. At the end of the
day, time is reserved for discussing next steps with senior
management.
Note: This process works best when all or most of
the participants have attended the "Basics of Results Accountability" workshop or have seen the video of
that workshop.
